Job summary

ENGIE North America is seeking a Texas and Mexico Natural Gas Trader to support the growth and performance of ENGIE’s Mexico natural gas portfolio. You will manage physical supply and price risk across Texas and cross-border markets, while hedging and analyzing markets to identify opportunities.

You’ll collaborate with trading, origination, sales, and portfolio teams, develop strategies, and optimize cross-border Molecules with a focus on portfolio efficiency and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of natural gas trading or closely related commercial portfolio experience.
  • Working knowledge of Texas intrastate and interstate pipelines and cross-border flows.
  • Strong knowledge of North American natural gas fundamentals and price-risk drivers.
  • Experience supporting physical natural gas transactions and hedging strategies.
  • Proficiency with Excel and SQL, VBA, or Python for analysis.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple time-sensitive tasks, and adapt to market changes.
  • Clear written and verbal communication across commercial teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support physical gas supply activity and risk management across Texas and cross-border markets.
  • Manage physical and financial gas price risk (flat, basis, index).
  • Purchase physical gas at U.S. receipt points and coordinate supply needs.
  • Develop hedging strategies using physical purchases, basis, and time spreads.
  • Build analytical tools to improve portfolio visibility and risk management.
  • Analyze supply, demand, infrastructure and pricing dynamics for market views.
  • Coordinate with trading, origination, sales, scheduling, and portfolio teams.
  • Collaborate with teams on pricing, transport capacity, and supplier opportunities.
