Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking a highly motivated quantitative analyst to join Global Trading Analytics. You will develop scalable models to support trading, risk management and commercial optimization across energy commodities, working with quants, traders, originators and technologists.

You will build analytical frameworks, perform time-series forecasting, and contribute to model governance and best practices in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in a quantitative field as listed in the HTML.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience building quantitative models in commodities or related assets.
  • Proficiency in probability, stochastic calculus, statistics, optimization and ML.
  • Experience with large datasets and extracting actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or other programming languages and libraries.
  • Knowledge of market risk, valuation, and portfolio analytics.
  • Experience with model validation and back-testing.
  • Ability to communicate technical results to varied stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and maintain quantitative models for trading, risk, valuation and portfolio optimization across energy commodities.
  • Build frameworks to evaluate market fundamentals and cross-commodity opportunities.
  • Conduct statistical analysis, time-series modeling and forecasting to support decisions.
  • Develop pricing, volatility, and risk models for multiple teams.
  • Collaborate with traders and risk professionals to translate business needs into models.
  • Create analytical tools, dashboards and model infrastructure to improve efficiency.
  • Analyze market behavior and emerging trends across energy and related markets.
  • Evaluate model performance, back-test and enhance for better accuracy.
  • Work with technology teams to deploy scalable production-ready solutions.
  • Communicate complex findings clearly to commercial stakeholders.
