Avis Budget Group is seeking a Lead Engineer to lead the technical effort for our CRO & Experimentation team — across Web and App for Avis.com and Budget.com. You will own getting every experiment built and validated correctly, coordinating with internal IT, QA, and delivery partners.

This lead role collaborates with CRO Managers, designers, analysts, Product Management, and IT/QA to ensure accurate tracking, robust QA, and scalable builds. The position is based in Parsippany, New Jersey.

Qualifications

• Hands-on A/B and multivariate testing in Adobe Target or Optimizely.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end experiments.
• Experience coordinating work of engineers or delivery partners.
• Familiarity with GA4, Adobe Analytics, and tag management systems.
• Detail-oriented QA mindset with ownership of testing outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the build and QA of A/B and multivariate tests across regions.
• Build experiment variants across web and app per approved designs.
• Ensure experiments are tracked correctly from launch, regardless of who builds.
• Direct and coordinate 3rd-party delivery partners and internal IT resources.
• Troubleshoot and resolve live experiment issues and QA handoffs.
• Own QA for every experiment and coordinate regression testing.
• Collaborate with CRO Managers, UX, Design, Product, and IT/QA teams.
• Stay current with testing platforms and propose process/tool improvements.

Reporting to the Director, Global CRO & Experimentation, this role owns getting every experiment built and validated correctly, whether that means doing the work directly or coordinating with whoever else is building it — internal IT, the IT/QA team, or 3rd-party delivery partners.
