Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesia is required or CRNA credentialing alternative as described (pre-2003 option)
• SC RN- Advanced Practice license required
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia pharmacology and techniques

Responsibilities

• Formulates anesthetic plan with anesthesiologist and discusses risks with patient.
• Performs intravenous and arterial line placement within guidelines.
• Documents pre-anesthesia assessment and intraoperative anesthesia care.
• Maintains age-specific competence in anesthesia techniques.
• Maintains knowledge of anesthesia pharmacology and modalities.
• Provides a safe practice environment to minimize infection risk and equipment failure.
• Performs Point of Care testing as required.
