Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to provide anesthesia under the supervision of an anesthesiologist for a broad range of surgical and diagnostic procedures, including cardio-thoracic cases and catheterizations. The role includes supporting education for nurse anesthesia students.

Qualified candidates hold an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program graduate credential, an APN-CRNA specialization, and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program required.
• Currently certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Specialty by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical procedures and diagnostic tests or cardio-thoracic procedures and cardiac catheterizations.
• Participate in clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students.
