Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist in California to join the anesthesia care team in Santa Rosa. You will select and administer IV and other anesthetics, monitor patient responses, and document postoperative status per KP policies.

Responsibilities include reviewing preoperative evaluations, communicating risks, implementing anesthesia plans, and collaborating with anesthesiologists and surgeons to ensure patient safety during perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
• Graduate of an accredited school of anesthesia by date of hire.
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
• Registered Nurse License (California) required at hire.
• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (California) required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts and/or reviews anesthetic evaluation of patients prior to surgical proceedings; consults with anesthesiologists/surgeons.
• Reviews patients' charts and pre-operative data in accordance with KP policies.
• Evaluates airway control risk and ensures pre-anesthesia documentation.
• Explains tests, procedures and risks to patients and documents explanations.
• Develops and implements the anesthesia plan; starts IV; administers anesthesia safely.
• Participates with post-anesthesia care unit staff during transfers.
• Monitors vital signs and informs team of changes; takes remedial action as needed.
• Performs procedures outside the OR per policy and physician order; documents details.
• Keeps accurate records of anesthesia administered and patient condition.
