UTMB Health seeks a qualified Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to provide supervised anesthesia services in the Department of Anesthesiology in Texas. You will support pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care and collaborate with MD supervision.

The role requires a COA-accredited MS in Nurse Anesthesia, Texas RN and CRNA licenses, NBCRNA certification, and a commitment to patient safety and high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Master degree or higher from COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program.
  • Texas RN license and CRNA license required.
  • NBCRNA certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations including medical history review.
  • Administer anesthetic drugs and manage controlled substances.
  • Select and monitor invasive and non-invasive monitoring modalities.
  • Plan and initiate general, regional, local and sedation anesthesia.
  • Respond to emergencies with airway management.
  • Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia.
  • Maintain detailed anesthesia records in the EMR system.
  • Additional duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master degree or higher from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA).


Job Summary:
Consistent with Texas Licensure. MD supervised practice. The purpose of this position is to provide CRNA support to meet the patient care needs of the Department of Anesthesiology. The person is responsible for providing supervised patient care, including anesthesiology pre-op, intra-op, and post-op services.


Job Duties:

  • Conducting pre-anesthesia evaluations including but not limited to: assessing patient’s medical history and how it might affect the patient’s response to anesthesia.
  • Administering anesthetic related drugs and controlled substances.
  • Selecting/inserting both invasive and noninvasive monitoring modalities.
  • Planning and initiating anesthetic techniques, including general, regional, local and sedation.
  • Responding to emergency situations using airway management and other techniques.
  • Facilitating emergence and recovery from anesthesia.
  • Keeping detailed anesthetic records in our EMR system and other documentation as indicated.
  • Additional duties as needed.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS OR CERTIFICATIONS
Required:

  • Valid Texas RN License
  • Valid Texas CRNA License
  • National Certification Examination required by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)

Salary Range:
Commensurate with experience.
