Job summary

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) at Baylor Scott & White Health is a licensed nurse with advanced training in anesthesia. The CRNA administers, monitors, and adjusts anesthetic doses for patients of all ages during surgery and other procedures.

This role is limited to select locations based on unique workplace dynamics and requires strong attention to patient safety, collaboration with the surgical team, and adherence to departmental guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing required.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Interprets pre-anesthetic evaluation and lab data.
• Performs pre-induction exam and reviews the proposed surgery with the patient.
• Induces and maintains general anesthesia according to staff guidelines.
• Performs regional anesthesia and administers medications per department policies.
• Monitors life support data and ensures all monitoring equipment is functional.
• Documents events during anesthesia and communicates with Recovery Room staff.
