Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services in Midland, TX is seeking a Critical Power Technician to service emergency standby generators, transfer switches, and related equipment. The standard shift is 7 AM to 4 PM with overtime possible during field service and a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.

Candidates should have 2+ years of generator maintenance experience, knowledge of diesel and gaseous engines, and the ability to travel overnight; high school diploma required and technical training

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a Technical School preferred.
• AAS Electrical Power Generator Tech a big Plus.
• 2 years experience with higher voltage generator maintenance (CAT, Kohler, Cummins).
• Military experience is a Plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of critical power systems installation, start-up and commissioning.
• Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on PLCs, AC/DC, and switch gears.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on generators, engines, and transfer switches.
• Coordinate with installing electrical contractors.
• Oversee correction of issues arising from commissioning.
• Become familiar with working off-site with mining companies.
• Test and troubleshoot various sized generators.
