Critical Power Service Technician

Saber Power Services, LLC, (SPS), located in Houston, TX, is a nationally recognized full-service EPC company specializing in complex medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure across North America.

Saber Power Services is seeking a dedicated professional with a positive outlook for our Critical Power Service Technician position in Rosharon, TX.

Position Summary:

The Critical Power Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing power systems critical to data centers, healthcare facilities, telecommunication hubs, and other operations requiring uninterrupted power supply. The role focuses on ensuring reliability and efficiency of UPS systems, batteries, generators, and related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform timely maintenance and repairs of critical power equipment to ensure 24/7 operability.
  2. Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and conduct system upgrades and replacements.
  3. Design review, prepare commissioning test procedures and reports, and oversee on-site testing.
  4. Interpret electrical schematics and follow safety protocols to prevent outages and maintain system stability.
  5. Prioritize and complete work orders, ensuring high skill level and customer service.
  6. Communicate clearly with customers, explain technical details, address complaints, and resolve problems.
  7. Establish and maintain relationships with vendors.
  8. Conduct scheduled training for customers and technicians.
  9. Lead, train, and guide team members, ensuring resource availability.
  10. Assess and improve Facility Services processes and programs.
  11. Develop Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and Scopes of Work (SOW).
  12. Provide basic operation training in classroom settings.
  13. When not performing scheduled maintenance, assist with testing, system rebuilding, or training at the main office.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of two years of experience with Power Systems, Battery Technologies, or Electronics.
  2. High School Diploma or GED required.
  3. Electrical Technology certificate preferred but not required.
  4. Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to respond quickly to high-stakes situations.
  6. Valid and unrestricted State Driver's license.
  7. Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings.
  8. Willing to work weekends and travel as needed.
