Gilder Search Group seeks an experienced Critical Power Sales Associate for the Baltimore, MD area. You will drive regional sales for mission-critical power solutions, contacting enterprise and hyperscale end-users, and coordinating with partners to close opportunities.

Responsibilities include developing a regional sales approach, nurturing existing clients, and delivering tailored data center power solutions. A strong networking background and OEM/third-party experience are ideal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5–10 years sales experience selling Critical Power equipment to data centers / critical facilities.
  • Extensive contacts in the Data Center industry and related roles.
  • Experience with OEMs or third-party service providers and UPS/PDUs/Busway tech.
  • Proven ability to develop repeatable, value-based sales strategies.
  • Willingness to travel across Maryland and manage regional accounts.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support a Maryland regional sales territory across Enterprise, Colo, and Hyperscale markets.
  • Develop regional vertical market segments and tailor requirements accordingly.

Critical Power Sales Associate - Baltimore, MD

This job opportunity is with a Eastern Regional Market leader of Critical Power Solutions and Services. This opportunity provides a career-growth minded role with exciting projects with leading-edge technology and innovation as well as competitive salaries and benefits. This company provides data center power solutions that custom-fit to the requirements of their client's mission-critical facilities. They offer Mission Critical Power Equipment such as: Busways, UPS, Conduits, Panel Meters / Panel Boards, RPPs, PDUs, etc. They provide companies with options for equipment purchases when multiple sourcing options are needed in the current supply chain crunch. This supports their client's uptime of mission-critical facilities for many of the world's largest organizations and government facilities including Enterprise Data Centers, Colocation Providers and Hyperscale Companies.

Our client is looking for a Critical Power Sales Associate to join their outside sales team. The Sales Associate will be responsible for supporting a region in developing and executing sales for the company. This person must be able to develop regional vertical market segments and tailor specific requirements to that vertical market. The Sales Associate will be responsible for the sales efforts and results for the region for the company. Our client is looking for a Sales Associate that can grow and manage a territory conducting direct sales with end users - Enterprise, Colo, and Hyperscale market. The ideal candidate will have knowledge or previous experience selling Critical Power Solutions in the the region, possess an established rolodex of contacts in the Mission Critical Data Center / Critical Facilities Marketplace. They will support a specific region and pursue sales opportunities that are product based. The primary candidate function will be calling on established clients and prospecting for new accounts among high-potential Critical Facility end-users, work through Partners such as engineers, architects, subcontractors, integrators and GCs. They will also be responsible for preparing proposals, presentations, and briefings. Candidate will also be expected to establish positive relationships with existing business partners in hopes to generate additional business. A proven track record of consultative data center solutions sales skills are a must, along with a strong background in electrical power distribution and backup power.

Responsibilities
  • Create a sales approach that will allow for prospective customers to reach its full market potential
  • Develop new business and maintain and grow established clients in the Mission Critical Data Center space in Maryland
  • Cold Call New prospects, RFP interviews, requirements meeting, etc. and manage entire sales process from first contact to closing the deal
  • Establish positive relationships with existing business partners in hopes to generate additional business
  • Maintain and review sales prospect pipeline and sales forecasts
  • Develop strategic relationships that will help bring in additional sales opportunities
  • Develop and manage an effective channel strategy from both a sales and marketing perspective with Engineering Firms, Electrical Distributors, Electrical Contractors, and GCs
  • Develop relationships with third party revenue generating partners and national property management firms that lead to large end user opportunities
  • Develop a marketing and lead generation capability utilizing web based techniques
  • Extensive relationships with the national property management firms, end users, facility engineers and facility managers to develop a repeatable sales strategy to sell
  • Attend and arrange booth space at trade shows and conferences to market the company's Critical Power OEM Services
  • Conduct in-person meetings and presentations with prospective clients to understand their needs and present tailored solutions
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of company's products and services
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless delivery and client onboarding
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering , other technically related degree in the industry, or equivalent work-related experience
  • At least five to ten years sales experience sellingCritical Power Distribution Equipment to: data center / critical facilities / critical power industry - with responsibilities working for an OEM or Third Party Service company or, UPS / Battery / PDU / Busway, RPPs or related equipment sales
  • Must have an extensive network of relevant contacts that can become potential customers in the Data Center Industry: Director of Facilities, Facilities Managers, Property Managers, Engineering Directors, etc.
  • Contacts with Engineering Firms, General Contractors, Electrical Contractors, Data Center Providers, Construction Companies, etc.
  • Proven ability to be a strategically focused sales leader. Has developed a repeatable sales strategy focused on selling value propositions
  • Member / Attendee of local professional chapters / conferences (7x24 Exchange, Uptime Institute, DCD, Bisnow, AFCOM, iMasons etc.)
  • Must be a team player and be able to build long-term cooperative partner relationships with internal and external individuals who are part of the business development process
  • Effective Communicator-emails, phone, meetings, etc.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams in addition toCRM software (e.g., Salesforce, etc)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • TrackNumber of Opportunities generated and converted; Value of shipmentsrelative to quota; monthly and annual sales targets
  • Travel to client offices, construction sites, etc across Maryland
  • Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus (Navy Nukes- EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force - Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, etc.)
