Job summary

Central Power Systems & Services in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Critical Power Technician to service emergency standby generators, transfer switches, and related equipment. The role involves field service with overtime and after-hours on-call once trained.

Candidates should have experience with generator sets and diesel/gas engines, plus a willingness to travel; the company offers competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with high voltage generator maintenance (CAT, Kohler, Cummins)
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge of diesel-powered generators
• 3+ years experience in generator maintenance

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of critical power systems installation, start-up and commissioning
• Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on PLCs, AC/DC, and switch gears
• Perform scheduled maintenance on generators, gas and diesel engines and transfer switches
• Coordinate with installing electrical contractors
• Oversee correction of issues from commissioning
• Get familiar with off-site work and mining company environments
• Test and troubleshoot various sized generators
