Job summary

Apple is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to join its Infrastructure Services team. You will support cooling, electrical and life-safety systems in high-availability data center environments, ensuring compliance with codes and standards and operating with precision under demanding conditions.

You will read and interpret technical drawings, work extended hours when needed, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain reliability, safety, and performance of critical facilities

With your technical expertise, you will ensure compliance with codes and standards, develop infrastructure improvements, and serve as an expert in your specialty (e.g., cooling, electrical).

Description

Critical Facilities Technicians are responsible for the safe, professional, and operationally sound manipulation of the systems, such as cooling and electrical, that support systems in high-availability, high-risk, or high-reliability environments.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience with mechanical, electrical and/or fire life safety systems Ability to read and interpret fire system, electrical system, and mechanical system drawings Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach and lift as required, on a continuous basis, with items that can weigh up to 75 lbs Ability to work extended hours within a Data Center Environment and typically within a heat range of 60 degrees Fahrenheit upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit while following OSHA driven work rest cycles. Ability to climb and use a ladder varying in types from A-Frame to extension ladders at various heights.

Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of related experience in a critical environment. Ability to perform practical applications of, preventative and corrective maintenance for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other infrastructure systems Understanding of hyper scale electrical and mechanical systems and NFPA70e and OSHA Regulations that pertain to data centers Knowledge of safety procedures, established techniques, and equipment Ability to build relationships and collaborate Excellent time management skills Ability to take initiative with minimal direction Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members and other departments
