Job summary

CoreSite is seeking a Critical Operations Engineer II in Reston, VA to operate and maintain critical electrical, mechanical, cooling, and fire/life safety systems. You will monitor performance, respond to abnormal conditions, and drive operational excellence with guidance to junior staff.

The role involves coordination with technicians, vendors, and customers, with a focus on uptime, documentation, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced data center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher is required.
• Experience with large commercial/industrial electrical and mechanical systems preferred.
• Military HVAC or Electrical training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Perform facility inspections and document findings.
• Lead administrative tasks across CMMS, ticketing, monitoring, and documentation.
