Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn is seeking an Emergency Medical Dispatcher for a Part Time Flex role. The dispatcher will receive EMS triage and dispatch requests and ensure timely, safe responses by emergency personnel.

The role supports the Operations Center and EMS staff deployment throughout shifts. Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification within 3 months of hire, and CPR Certification; CAD experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification within 3 months of hire date.
• CPR Certification required.
• Dispatcher experience and EMS CAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates EMS CAD equipment to receive and transmit emergency information quickly and accurately.
• Oversees Emergency Operations Center communications and coordinates with FDNY, NYULH, OEM and REMSCO.
• Maintains all radio communications and manages EMS unit deployment and vehicle assignments.
• Triages all ambulance requests and provides on-line first aid instructions until units arrive.
• Documents incidents and updates CAD with progress and changes; ensures logs are complete.
• Maintains equipment in the Communication Center and coordinates uptime with supervisors.
