BluePearl Pet Hospital in South Austin, TX, is launching a new state-of-the-art emergency and specialty hospital. We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Veterinary Technician to join the founding team and help establish high-quality patient care from day one.

As a full-time team member, you will work nights, weekends, and holidays, triaging and treating critically ill patients, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to building hospital workflows and culture in a collaborative,

Responsibilities

• Triage emergency and critical care patients, obtain patient histories, and assess vital signs.
• Recognize changes in patient condition, identify patients at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest, and initiate CPR when needed.
• Place IV catheters and perform advanced catheter placement, including jugular catheters, central lines, and PICC lines.
• Monitor and care for mechanically ventilated patients.
• Monitor critical patients closely, recognize signs of deterioration, and respond promptly to changes in clinical status.
• Calculate and administer medications, including continuous rate infusions (CRIs).
• Assist with emergency procedures and provide advanced nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, fellow technicians, and assistants to deliver high-quality, evidence-based patient care.
• Mentor and train fellow team members while contributing to a positive, supportive learning environment.
• Provide compassionate care to patients and their families during some of their most challenging moments.
