Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• BSN strongly preferred and/or willing to acquire within three years of hire.
• A minimum of 1 year of critical care nursing experience required.
• Ventilator experience is required.
• Prior PACU/recovery experience is preferred.
• The ability to learn quickly, strong teamwork, accountability, and patient-focused care are required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing practices according to evidence-based research, policies, and standards to ensure safe and excellent patient care.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues, and the care team regarding patient status and plans.
• Administer medications using bar-scanning and documentation technologies for safe delivery.
• Document patient assessments, plans of care, interventions, and evaluations in electronic systems.
• Provide patient and family education to optimize health, wellness, and disease management.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary discharge planning to ensure safe transitions of care.
