Job summary

Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA seeks a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Unit. The RN will assess patient health problems, develop and implement care plans, and maintain detailed medical records. Responsibilities include administering medications and monitoring patient status during night shifts.

Minimum qualifications include active RN licensure and AHA BLS/ACLS certifications; the role entails night work with 7:00 PM–7:00 AM hours and a 0.9 FTE.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
• AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - required prior to the end of the orientation period

Responsibilities

• Assess patient health problems and needs and develop nursing care plans.
• Maintain detailed medical records and monitor patient conditions.
• Administer medications and monitor for reactions and side effects; provide health maintenance guidance.
