MedStar Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse for a 30-bed high-acuity unit on 2F, with a focus on stroke and neurosurgical care. The role offers mentorship and opportunities to expand critical care skills in a cross-trained team.

The position emphasizes delivering compassionate care, assessing patient conditions, and coordinating care plans with the nursing team. A strong clinical background and DC RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Prior clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Active DC RN license and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex.
• Assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.
• Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.
