Job summary

Atrium Health's 4-bed Medical ICU in Matthews, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide critical care within a high-acuity environment. You will engage in governance, apply evidence-based practices, and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to deliver optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include using the nursing process, monitoring patients, updating care plans, maintaining safety, and documenting in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state where providing care; BLS certification required.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team.
• Maintains a culture of safety and ensures accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units within the designated service area to meet patient care needs.
• Delivers patient-centered care aligned with age-specific needs and unit policies.
• Delegates appropriately to RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed staff as needed.
