Job summary

Atrium Health's 14-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit in Monroe, NC is seeking an experienced RN to deliver high-acuity care to adults with sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-arrest patients. You will participate in governance, clinical protocols, and care coordination with the multidisciplinary team.

You will assess needs, develop plans, and execute treatments while maintaining safety, documentation, and professional development. This fast-paced unit values collaboration and expertise.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where services are provided.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; additional certifications may be needed per specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care, engaging patients and families throughout care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, mobilizes resources, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety and continuous quality improvement.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to protocols.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation and may float to other units as needed.
