Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) Nurses are transforming care across units, delivering evidence-based nursing in a Magnet®-recognized setting. As a Registered Nurse in MICU B, you will join the largest trauma hospital and safety net hospital in New England, contributing to mission-driven, equitable care for patients and families.

In this role, you’ll work a 36-hour schedule on nights with rotating weekends, leveraging a supportive environment and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Must have active or pending Massachusetts RN license.
• 1+ years of RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required in certain units.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred).
• Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years.
• Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the Critical Care unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients.
• Communicate with health care team members, patients, and their families.
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
• Update and manage patient records.
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information.
• Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization.
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects.
