Job summary

Loretto Hospital in Chicago invites applications for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Unit. The RN delivers care to adult and critical care patients, applying the nursing process and evidence-based practices to meet patient needs and outcomes.

The role supports the hospital mission and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams. Qualified candidates have an RN license, 1 year of medical-surgical or critical care experience, and BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited or approved school of nursing.
• Current RN License.
• One year of medical surgical or critical care experience required.
• Critical care or ED course preferred.
• The RN must be knowledgeable of current nursing practices.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Responsibilities

• Utilizes evidence-based practice in the delivery of patient care.
• Participates with quality initiatives, research or evidence-based activities.
• Assumes responsibility for seeking data to support care given.
• Demonstrate the commitment to ongoing evaluation of quality and effectiveness of nursing practice in Critical Care.
• Supports unit standard of practice and performance improvement measures to enhance quality of care and service to the patient.
• Demonstrate the ability and willingness to collaborate with the client, significant others and health care providers in providing patient centered care.
