Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care and work with unit teams to identify problems, develop plans, and educate patients and families.

The role supports Mercy's philosophy in a fast-paced hospital setting with a 0.6 FTE schedule (2–12 hour shifts per week) and rotating shifts. A sign-on bonus of up to $9,000 is available for external applicants who meet criteria.

Qualifications

• Current RN license to practice in Iowa or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate accurate information to patients and families during handoffs and care transitions.
• Ensure necessary information is provided to involved parties for optimal patient outcomes.
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate patient care.
• Maintain accurate, real-time documentation of nursing care.
