Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Registered Nurse (0.6 FTE) to support a patient-centered care model. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, communicate across the care team, and educate patients and families.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with unit staff. Required RN license in IA or a compact state with BLS; Iowa mandatory reporter training may be required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Iowa or a compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate accurate and relevant information to patients and families at handoffs and as needed.
• Perform competent assessment, planning, intervention, coordination and evaluation based on patient plan of care.
• Document nursing care accurately and in real time per hospital policy.
• Direct other licensed and non-licensed staff in providing care as assigned.
• Maintain respectful, age-appropriate communication for patients and families.
