Job summary

Mercy Cedar Rapids seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide patient-centered care, safely and independently following Mercy’s standards. You will work with unit teams to identify problems, develop plans, and educate patients and families.

Responsibilities include effective handoffs, accurate documentation, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current license to practice as a registered nurse in Iowa or compact state.
• Current BLS certification required by American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification required for Critical Care Float Pool.

Responsibilities

• Communicate accurate and clinically relevant information to patients, families, and coworkers during handoffs and other times.
• Demonstrate competent assessment, planning, intervention, coordination and evaluation per patient plan of care.
• Assess patients and families to provide care based on patient-centered model.
• Provide safe, effective nursing care and document care in real time.
