Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join an established team delivering specialized cardiopulmonary care for patients with breathing issues.

You will perform treatments from breathing techniques to ventilator management and oxygen therapies, applying strong assessment skills and critical thinking to develop effective care plans in routine and emergent situations.

Qualifications

• Requires graduation from an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• One year recent clinical experience in Respiratory Care.
• WA Respiratory Care Practitioner license at hire; Registered Respiratory Therapist at hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) at hire; ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory patient care including Aerosol Therapy, ABGs, ETTs, Bronchus, ECGs, CPT, Vent Care, CPAP/BIPAP therapy, and other Respiratory Care Procedures per standards.
• Monitors patients for adverse reactions and takes corrective action.
• Attends high-risk deliveries and C/sections, performing patient care within scope of practice.
• Under direction of a Provider, performs ventilator/CPAP/Airway management and other modalities within scope of practice.
• Continually evaluates cardiopulmonary condition using exams, monitoring, and diagnostics.
• Determine effectiveness of therapy and make recommendations to physicians/Manager.
