Job summary

Kindred Hospital Houston Medical Center and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide safe, competent care, manage ventilators, assess patients, and collaborate with physicians. This role will document care, verify orders, and participate in rounds in a fast-paced LTACH/ARU environment.

Required are RT program education or an associate degree, RCP license on hire, BCLS and ACLS, and fluent English. 1+ year of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary RT graduation or an Associate Degree in RT is required.
• RCP license required upon hire; ACLS/BCLS required.
• English fluency is mandatory; 1+ year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care procedures in the hospital per policies.
• Monitor ventilation, ABG sampling, and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Verify physician orders and document care and charges.
• Manage oxygen/ventilatory devices and airway care.
• Assist in bronchoscopy and decannulation assessments as needed.
• Provide patient/family education and participate in rounds.
