Job summary

Medical City Decatur, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a PRN Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our collaborative team. You’ll provide diagnostic and therapeutic care, manage ventilation, and help educate patients and families.

You will work with advanced respiratory technology, receive mentorship from experienced RT leaders, and enjoy consistent scheduling that supports professional growth and excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate/Bachelor degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• NBRC credentials with active status preferred.
• ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications required or obtained within set windows.
• At least 1 year of Respiratory Care experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status with focused exams and airway patency checks.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy including oxygen, medications, and airway clearance techniques.
• Manage invasive and noninvasive ventilation across care settings.
• Educate patients and families; collaborate with physicians and nurses.
• Maintain and sanitize equipment; ensure readiness and infection prevention standards.
