Job summary

AdventHealth in Zephyrhills, FL is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for overnight coverage. You will provide respiratory care, including ventilator management, bronchoscopy assistance, and blood gas analysis in a high-acuity ICU setting.

Qualified candidates will have an RRT, NBRC credential, BLS, and NRP, plus 1+ year of critical care and 3+ years in respiratory care. This full-time position requires Florida licensure and offers comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1+ years critical care experience
• 3+ years Respiratory Care experience
• RRT credential required
• NBRC credential required
• BLS and NRP certifications required

Responsibilities

• Provides respiratory care to patients, including aerosolized medication, oxygen therapy, and ventilation.
• Draws, analyzes, and reports blood gas results; Responds to rapid response and code blue situations; CPR as needed.
• Manages invasive and non-invasive ventilators and documents changes.
• Assists with bronchoscopy and manages BiPAP and end-tidal CO2 capnography.
• Performs respiratory therapy procedures per physician orders and protocols.
• Participates in interdisciplinary rounds to influence patient care and length of stay.
• Precepts staff and serves as a resource for lower-level therapists; shift lead duties as assigned.
• Reviews workload, assigns staff, and ensures task completion; maintains lab compliance and QC.
• Identifies cost-control measures while maintaining care quality.
