Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care and life support under physician supervision, focusing on cardiopulmonary therapy and patient education.

The role requires an Associate of Science in Respiratory Therapy with NBRC RRT credential, NJ license, and ACLS/BLS. Minimum 1+ year of respiratory care experience is expected; Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Qualifications

Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapist program.
Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
Minimum 1+ years of Respiratory Care experience.
Critical care experience highly preferred.
Experience with PFT studies and cardiopulmonary testing highly preferred.
NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
Pulmonary Function Technologist credential expected to have/obtain within 12 months of hire.
Active Respiratory Therapy license in New Jersey.
Advanced and Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

Evaluate prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, and determine therapy requirements.
Render aerosol meds and treatments and assist breathing.
Set up and operate ventilators and other respiratory therapy devices.
Monitor patient responses and adjust therapy parameters.
Perform chest physiotherapy and pulmonary function tests as directed.
Maintain patient charts and ensure equipment safety.
Educate patients and support staff on respiratory care.
Collaborate with physicians on adverse reactions and treatment plans.
