Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Associate's RRT or RRT Equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the applicable state.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC).
• BLS required per policy guidelines.
• For ED/VC care, 2 years' critical care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in oxygen delivery methods and equipment and conducts prescribed therapeutic procedures.
• Administers therapies, understanding purpose and benefits and possible effects.
• Initiates, monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators.
• Documents therapy and communicates results to the healthcare team.
• Performs diagnostic procedures as outlined in policy.
• Participates in emergency respiratory care and patient education as needed.
• Maintains respiratory care equipment and adheres to safety and regulatory guidelines.
