Job summary

UCLA Health, a leading health system with the David Geffen School of Medicine, seeks a Critical Care Pharmacist to work across ICU and multiple pharmacy locations. This role involves responding to codes, verifying orders, rounding with clinicians, and providing clinical services to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients.

Expect 10-hour shifts, weekends/holidays, and central/decentralized unit work. The position requires a PharmD, CA pharmacist license, and at least 2 years inpatient hospital

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
• Active California Pharmacist license required.
• Minimum 2 years of hospital inpatient experience or completion of an ASHP-accredited residency.
• PGY2 residency training in Critical Care or related field strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmacokinetic calculations and dosing principles.

Responsibilities

• Respond to codes and review/verify medication orders.
• Optimize safe medication therapy and review patient records.
• Interact with health professionals and round to promote safe medication use.
• Provide clinical services to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients.
• Prepare and dispense medications in inpatient settings and counsel patients.
• Oversee dispensing, return, and waste of controlled substances on assigned shift/unit.
• Complete operational and clinical projects as assigned by Pharmacy Management.
