Job summary

UCLA Health is seeking a Critical Care Pharmacist to work across multiple pharmacy locations, primarily the ICU, with diverse shifts including float, weekends and holidays. You will respond to codes, verify orders, optimize safe therapy, and provide clinical services to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in accordance with policy.

You will also prepare and dispense medications in inpatient settings, counsel patients, and oversee controlled substances.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required
• Minimum 2 years of hospital inpatient experience or residency
• PGY2 residency in Critical Care preferred
• Knowledge of pharmacokinetic calculations
• Sterile intravenous preparation using aseptic technique
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Respond to codes and verify medication orders
• Review patient records and medication profiles
• Provide clinical services to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients
• Round with other health professionals to ensure safe medication use
• Prepare and dispense medications in inpatient settings
• Counsel patients on drug use and monitor controlled substances handling
