Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to join the Department of Pharmacy's Acute Care Services Team. The role will support adult general medicine, surgery, and critical care patients, including ICU and Emergency Department coverage.

Responsibilities include pharmacotherapy review, order verification, patient counseling, and contributing to medication reconciliation and transitions of care. Opportunities to precept students exist.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure in NC or eligible to obtain licensure within 6 months.
• No prior experience required.
• ACPE-accredited pharmacy school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives prescriptions, interprets prescriptions, reviews medication profile/history and clarifies issues with prescribers.
• Provides pharmacotherapy recommendations and clinical interventions.
• Oversees preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products.
• Counsels patients and families on pharmaceutical care issues.
• Directs shift workflow and supervises technicians and students.
