Job summary

Mercy in Springfield, MO is seeking compassionate Patient Care Associates (PCA) to support patients in a fast-paced critical care environment. Under RN/LPN supervision, you will assist with daily activities, observe patient conditions, and help keep patients safe and comfortable. No prior experience required; a 175-hour Mercy training program plus BLS are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA or CPCT/CPTC certification preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a healthcare career program acceptable.
• Must be 18+ and eligible for Mercy UAP Training Program.
• Current Mercy employee considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily care activities.
• Support nurses and other healthcare professionals in delivering patient care.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, hygiene, and comfort measures.
• Maintain a safe and healing environment for patients and families.
• Perform delegated patient care tasks per Mercy policies and state laws.
