Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks a Critical Care Nursing Professional Development Practitioner in Dallas. The role focuses on applying nursing professional development standards to improve patient care through education, coaching, and interprofessional collaboration.

The incumbent works under CEPD Education Manager and supports onboarding, competency, and ongoing professional development. Requirements include an RN license, BLS, and either a Master's degree in a related field within 3 years

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a related field within 3 years of hire is required.
  • Internal candidates without a Master's degree may be considered with a BSN and five years of related experience (including 2 years UT Southwestern experience).
  • RN licensure and BLS certification required within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

  • NPD practitioner functions in roles such as learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, and advocate for NPD.
  • Uses educational design process to assess practice gaps, identify learning needs and develop outcomes.
  • Plan, implement and evaluate educational activities based on evidence and best practices.
  • Responsible for orientation/onboarding, competency management, education, professional role development, research/evidence-based practice, and quality improvement.
