Brookdale Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Educator for Critical Care Services to strengthen the knowledge and readiness of our acute care nurses. Reporting to the Director of Nursing Education, this role blends expert clinical practice with adult learning to design orientation, competency validation, and ongoing education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum five (5) years of clinical RN experience including critical care and emergency nursing.
• Minimum three (3) years of nurse educator experience.
• Current NY RN license; BLS and ACLS required.
• Ability to design and facilitate learning experiences, lead educational initiatives, and evaluate outcomes.
• Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, EHRs, and AV/virtual learning technology.

Responsibilities

• Develops and initiates orientation/onboarding and ongoing staff development programs.
• Collaborates with nursing leadership to maintain standards of nursing practice.
• Identify and document learning needs of nursing staff related to practice.
• Stay current with literature and products impacting nursing practice and patient outcomes.
• Provide supervision, coaching, or mentoring to nursing staff based on learning needs.
• Establish methods to evaluate learning and competency plans for critical staff.
• Analyze and communicate impact of content and teaching strategies with educators and leadership.
• Serve as a clinical/educational resource and role model for staff.
• Maintain records for education programs, onboarding, and staff development.
