Job summary

Piedmont Medical Care Corporation seeks an experienced ICU/APN to join the critical care team and provide direct patient care for critically ill adults. You will perform airway management, invasive procedures, and evidence-based care under physician supervision, while participating in rounds and education.

Responsibilities include collaboration with physicians and nurses, utilization of EMR systems, and participation in research and quality improvement activities to advance patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program with licensure in Georgia.
• Experience in ICU or critical care settings preferred.
• Evidence-based clinical practice and guidelines familiarity.
• Ability to collaborate with physicians, nurses, and allied health staff.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct clinical services for critically ill adult patients within institutional guidelines.
• Obtains patient histories and conducts physical examinations, documenting findings.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests; explains procedures to patients and families.
• Performs therapeutic or diagnostic procedures per patient status and hospital requirements.
• Inserts and manages arterial/central lines, chest tubes, endotracheal tubes, and other devices as approved.
• Interfaces with patients using monitoring equipment and trains others in its use.
• Develops and implements treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians.
• Assesses status changes and initiates emergency interventions to stabilize patients.
• Incorporates clinical research findings into standards of care and supports approved trials.
• Participates in quality improvement activities and serves as a clinical education consultant.
