Strong communication and collaboration skills are required. Assess, treats and supports patients with one or more vital organ system failures with the goal of preventing further life- threatening deterioration. Performs resuscitation in the care of patients with acute cardiac, respiratory, or neurologic emergencies.Procedures that intensivists perform include intubation, difficult airway management, central and arterial line placement, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, ultrasonography, and diagnostic / therapeutic bronchoscopy, among others.As a physician of the Moffitt Medical Group (MMG), provides patient care and serves as a member of the academic medical enterprise.
