Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, part of St. David’s HealthCare, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Float Pool on a PRN basis. You will assess patients, develop and adjust plans of care, and supervise care delegated to non-licensed staff.

Requirements include 2 years ICU experience, ADN, Texas RN license (or Compact with license within 90 days), BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CATN or TNCC within 1 year. Benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 2 years of nursing experience in an Intensive Care Unit.
• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse license or Compact License (Texas license within 90 days of hire).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS certification required.
• NIHSS certification required per policy; CATN or TNCC certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments at admission.
• Develop and revise care plans including discharge planning.
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses.
• Educate patients and families on care and treatments.
• Administer medications and supervise care by non-licensed staff.
• Communicate changes in patient status to Charge Nurse/physician.
