Job summary

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center in Round Rock, TX is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Float Pool to provide patient assessments, develop and evaluate care plans, and supervise delegated tasks.

The role emphasizes collaboration, timely documentation, medication administration, venipuncture, and adherence to hospital policies. Requires ICU experience, ADN, TX RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and trauma nursing certification within 1 year.

Qualifications

• 2 years of ICU nursing experience
• ADN from an accredited program
• Texas RN license or Compact license (90 days to obtain in TX)
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• NIHSS certification required within 60 days
• CATN or TNCC within 1 year of hire

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments at admission
• Create and revise care plans including discharge planning
• Document nursing interventions and patient responses
• Provide educational materials to patients and families
• Administer medications and treatments per policy
• Perform venipuncture and IV management
• Review physician orders and ensure implementation
• Notify Charge Nurse/physician of status changes
• Provide shift handoff with accurate patient information
