Job summary

People Incorporated Mental Health Services seeks full-time Treatment Counselors to join our Crisis/IRTS team in Minnesota. The role involves direct intensive residential treatment and crisis stabilization within a recovery-focused environment, with a rotating schedule and weekly offs per period.

The position requires a behavioral science degree or equivalent and supervised experience, with preference for master’s degree and 4,000 hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with practicum/ internship in behavioral sciences.
• 2,000 hours of supervised experience in mental health service delivery.
• Familiarity with mental illness, de-escalation techniques, and psychotropic medications.
• Fluency in non-English language of the client group is acceptable, or advanced clinical training.

Responsibilities

• Engage clients using person-centered principles to support recovery goals.
• Demonstrate clinical knowledge aligned with treatment plans and diagnoses.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation to ensure safety of clients and programs.
• Prepare assessments, plan-of-care reviews, and discharge planning as needed.
• Train on creating assessments and treatment plans; assist with intake and orientation.
• Administer medications per policy and assist with staffing needs across locations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field

2,000 hours of supervised experience in mental health services

2,000 hours of supervised experience in mental illness or TBI/developmental disabilities

Graduate-level behavioral sciences program enrollment (for clinical training)
