UPMC Western Behavioral Health at Safe Harbor is seeking a compassionate Crisis Technician I for our Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) in Erie, PA. This casual role requires weekend shifts, potential holidays, and night coverage, with on-call flexibility.

A high school diploma is required and comprehensive training is provided upon hire. The CRU is an 8-bed facility offering medication management, group and individual therapies, and referrals for ongoing care.

Safe Harbor's Crisis Residential Unit (CRU) is an 8-bed facility designed to provide an alternative to inpatient behavioral health care. Our multidisciplinary team—comprising registered nurses, CRNPs/PAs, master’s level therapists, technicians, and a discharge specialist—works collaboratively to offer comprehensive services such as medication management, therapeutic support (both group and individual), and essential referrals for ongoing care.

As our ideal candidate, you will possess a high school diploma and bring a strong desire to learn. While prior experience in behavioral health or crisis- related settings is a plus, it is not required. We will provide comprehensive training upon hire to ensure your success in this role!

Key Information:

• Schedule: Casual role- will require weekends, potential holidays and night shifts. Flexibility required for on call.
• Location: 2556 West 12th Street, Erie, PA

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with ADLs (Activities of Daily Living):
  • Help with task like mobility and medication management.
• Participating in Multidisciplinary Activities:
  • Attend staff meetings and collaborate with other professionals within the business unit.
  • Work with crisis care staff, program staff, and physicians to create treatment plans.
  • Use a client-centered, strength-based approach for stability.
• Act as a member of the recovery team, providing direct care to patients and families by following CSSP principals, recovery and rehabilitation models of care
• Documentation and Safety:
  • Meeting accurate documentation and records.
  • Ensure safety in the therapeutic environment.
