Job summary

SpectraCare in Dothan, AL seeks a Mental Health Technician IV - Crisis (Floater) to provide direct care in the Crisis Stabilization Unit and related units, including supervision during awake shifts. You will facilitate skills-based groups and document sessions while maintaining safety and HIPAA compliance.

This role requires strong crisis intervention skills, patience, emotional stability, and the ability to work effectively under stress in a high-demand mental health setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mental illness, substance use, development disabilities, autism spectrum disorder.
• Knowledge and understanding of crisis intervention techniques.
• Ability to respond professionally in a crisis situation.
• Ability to follow moderately complex oral and written instructions.
• Ability to adhere to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and oversight to individuals in the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) and associated units.
• Plan, organize, and lead skills-based groups related to social skills, coping skills, self-esteem, and relaxation.
• Document groups according to SpectraCare policies and procedures and applicable regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the unit and assist with duties as assigned.
• Assist in transporting individuals and supporting mobility as needed.
