Job summary

Behavioral & Mental Care seeks a Mental Health Technician IV – Crisis (Floater) for the Crisis Center in Dothan, Alabama. This awake, overnight role provides direct care in the CSU, monitors safety, teaches coping skills, and supports behavioral health interventions.

The position requires leading educational groups, documenting progress, transporting individuals, and maintaining a therapeutic environment. Schedule rotates weekly; base pay is $15.00/hr with a $2.00 shift differential.

Qualifications

• Provide direct care and oversight in the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) and any associated units.
• Awake position; no sleeping on duty.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA rules (42 CFR).
• Operate system vehicles for transporting individuals as needed.
• Document progress notes and maintain records timely.
• Attend required trainings and follow SpectraCare policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor individuals’ behaviors and safety, assist with activities of daily living, and support coping skills education.
• Lead or assist in skills-based educational groups.
• Maintain unit cleanliness and basic meal/snack preparation as required.
• Assist with transfers/discharges and ensure safety during transport.
• Respond to crisis situations calmly and maintain therapeutic environment.
