Job summary

Highland Rivers Behavioral Health is seeking an RN or LPN to deliver high quality nursing care on the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU). The CSU operates 24/7/365 with 28 beds for psychiatric stabilization and detoxification, serving as a first-line alternative to hospitalization.

The role involves admissions/discharges, medication administration, crisis management, documentation, and collaboration with APRN and CSU leadership to ensure safety and quality of care.

Responsibilities

• Complete all admission and discharge paperwork including nursing assessments during crisis.
• Monitor all aspects of individual care, including diet and physical activity, reporting concerns to APRN and CSU Nurse Manager.
• Document progress and changes in individuals' conditions; complete daily shift notes.
• Ensure chart checks, CIWA, COWS, vitals, and logs are updated each shift.
• Transcribe orders as needed and maintain assignment sheets.
• Review/update census on BHL board and maintain department stock of supplies.
• Provide education to individuals and families about treatment and release of information.
• Facilitate unit groups and activities; assist with service-related compliance.
• Intervene and stabilize acute crisis situations as needed; consult with staff at outpatient sites.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and agency policies; demonstrate competency for lab tests and phlebotomy; assist with seclusions/restraints as needed.
