Job summary

Care Plus NJ, Inc. seeks a Crisis Receiving and Stabilization Center Mental Health Technician to join a multidisciplinary team serving adults 18+ in behavioral health crisis.

You will provide immediate on-site support, assess and stabilize, and help develop individualized recovery plans with clinical staff. Strong communication, background in behavioral health, and a commitment to helping individuals in need are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health field from an accredited college or university.
• At least 1+ years of experience working with individuals with SMI and SUD.
• Valid CPR and First Aid Training (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Valid Driver's license that is insurable by agency's automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in intake assessment process including treatment plans, goals and measurable objectives.
• Perform ongoing observation of consumers at the CRSC.
• Assist consumers to meet needs by working on goals with the multidisciplinary team and supports.
• Complete and assist with transportation as needed.
• Assist with triage process for individuals presenting to the CRSC and coordinate with referral sources.
• Accurately complete documentation as required by regulatory standards.
• Document applicable interactions per program requirements.
• Structure and enhance therapeutic milieu through counseling, crisis intervention and de-escalation.
• Participate in therapeutic activities and assist consumers in navigating community resources.
• Facilitate socialization activities when appropriate.
• Assist with case management and inter-agency coordination.
• Assist consumer's transition from the CRSC back home upon discharge.
• Participate in weekly supervision and team meetings.
