Job summary

Claratel Behavioral Health is seeking a Crisis Service Technician to support PES and CSU units within the DeKalb County crisis system. The role emphasizes frontline intake, triage, and crisis intervention to maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment.

You will work closely with nursing and clinical staff, participate in the Behavioral Emergency Response Team (BERT), and assist with documentation, safety checks, and patient discharge planning within a high-acuity setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of behavioral health experience preferred.
• Proficiency with EHR systems (Avatar, BHL, Xferral).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and de-escalation skills.
• Ability to stay calm and patient in high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and families professionally on arrival.
• Document intake, observations, and demographics.
• Assist with intake documentation and safety screenings.
• Secure belongings and ensure PES safety protocols.
• Collect vital signs under nursing/clinical direction.
• Engage clients in structured activities and rapport building.
• Maintain safety checks and incident documentation.
• Support discharge planning and transition to community care.
