Legacy Treatment Services Group in New Jersey is seeking a Crisis Response Specialist to evaluate clients in crisis and determine the level of needed services. You will coordinate with a Master’s Level Clinician for additional support when required and ensure culturally appropriate, trauma‑informed care while de-escalating crises.

The role involves safe planning, risk assessment, linkage to services, and follow-up care, with full‑time shifts including a 3:00 pm–7:00 am differential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a mental health field from an accredited program, +2 years post‑degree experience.
• Alternate: Bachelor’s in any field with 3 yrs post‑Bachelor’s mental health experience.
• Valid driver's license in good standing.

Job description

Crisis Response Specialists will be responsible for evaluating consumers and deciding if additional psychological, psychiatric, or clinical services are needed. If this is the case, the Crisis Response Specialist will be responsible for activating the on-call Master’s Level Clinician for additional support. Crisis Response Specialists must be able to demonstrate competency in culturally appropriate care, trauma informed care, de-escalation techniques, suicide assessment, and safety planning prior to rendering services independently.The 988 Program provides 24/7 mobile community outreach services to adults in crisis, including mental health, substance use, and suicidal emergencies. Staff dispatch to crises in teams of two, with a Crisis Response Specialist and a Peer Support Specialist, to provide assessment, risk assessment, safety planning, linkage to services, and follow-up care.
